Make sure of using a foundation that suits to your skin tone A great mineral foundation or lightweight cream help your natural beauty shine while protecting your skin from damage. This can make or break your entire look. So begin practicing these five easy steps.

Oily Skin.

You need to prepare skin nicely so that excess oil does not interfere with your make-up. The application has to be done with clean fingers and done quickly, covering areas most prone to oil interference.

Dry Skin.

If oily skin needs to be dried, dry skin needs to be moisturized sufficiently so that your make-up doesn’t cake or crease. Use cream foundation with fingers applying small dots till full face is covered. If you have few blemishes, cover them nicely with cream foundation and leave other areas bare.

Normal Skin.

A choice of cream-to-powder liquid or powder foundation is best suited for this skin type. Cream-to-powder foundation should be applied with a sponge, starting at centre of face and working outwards. Liquid foundation looks more natural when applied with a foundation brush. Technique remains same, i.e. you start at centre of face and work outwards.

Foundation Steps

  1. Start with a good moisturizer. Look for a daytime moisturizer or a hydrating freshener spray. Let it stay on your skin for a few minutes so the moisturizer is absorbed.
  2. Apply foundation to the center of your face, the area where you’ll most need coverage. To spread the foundation evenly, put a dot of foundation on your forehead, both cheeks and your chin.
  3. Spread foundation over yours kin with a sponge working from the center of your face outwards. Apply foundation to your eyelids, the grooves of your nose, and the sides of your lips. Work that sponge up to the hairline, over the jawline, and down the neck to avoid harsh edges.
  4. If you have dark spots on your face, you can use a concealer, but applied with a light hand.If you use concealer, avoid using foundation under eye area.
  5.  Apply foundation only at places where you genuinely need it. Finish off by dusting your entire face with loose powder.
  6. Dab a wide brush into the jar of powder, then pat the brush against the back of your hand to shake off excess particles. Again, brush from the center and work your way out to the edges of your face. Do not forget to brush a little powder onto your ears and neck area. Use a light hand.

Lip MakeUp

  • Lightly exfoliate and always moisturize your lips before applying color. Your lipstick will glide on easier and have more staying power.
  • First you must do is choosing a color suitable for you.Paler colors will illuminate and make your lips appear fuller. Darker colors have a minimizing effect making your lips appear smaller. Dark lip colors will age you, warmer and more colorful lipsticks will make you appear younger.
  • To make thin lips appear larger, apply your liner just outside of your natural lip line. Add a final touch with lip gloss.
  • To prevent feathering and bleeding of lip color, use a lip base under your lipstick. Then outline your lips with a lip liner.
  • To avoid getting lipstick on your teeth, after application, run your finger through the middle of your lips and pull it back out. The excess will come off on your finger -- not your teeth.
  • Don't overdraw your lipline when applying lipliner. It is always noticeable especially if you are using lipstick that is not close to your natural lip color.
  • When outlining your lips with a lip pencil, blend it inwards so that when your lipstick wears off you are not left with just an outline. It will also help your lipstick to last longer.
