Home Remedies For Dry Skin

  • If your skin is dry or extra-sensitive, you should mix some granular sugar, a teaspoon of nutmeg and half a cup of almond or olive oil to the oatmeal paste and then massage your face with this mixture. This prevents your skin from becoming too dry after the exfoliation.
  • A fine paste of wheat germ and rose water is also an excellent exfoliating agent for those who have skin easily prone to allergies and eruptions.
  • Mix 1 tablespoon of honey with 15 drops of orange juice and 1 tablespoon of fuller’s earth and add 1 tablespoon of rose water. Mix well and apply on the face, wash off after 10 miuntes.
  • Take 1 tablespoon olive oil and mix with 2 tablespoon of fresh cream, apply it on the face for 10 minutes and then wash your face with warm water.
  • Take  either by hand or in a grinder. Mix 2 - 3 teaspoons raw oats powdered (not the pre-cooked type) with pure honey and 1/4 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar until it forms a smooth mixture. Add more honey as needed. Then add 1 drop of basil oil to the mixture and apply in circular movements. Avoid the eye area. Leave the mixture on for about 15 minutes and wash off with lots of tepid water.
  • Drink at least 2 quarts of quality water every day to keep the skin well hydrated.
  • Avoid fried foods, animal fats, and heat-processed vegetable oils. Use cold- pressed oils only. Heating oils leads to the production of free radicals, which have a destructive effect on the skin.
  • Eat a balanced diet that includes vegetables, fruits, grains, seeds, and nuts. Eat quality protein from vegetable sources. Increase your intake of raw foods.
  • Eat foods such as garlic, onions, eggs, and asparagus that are high in sulfur, which helps to keep the skin smooth and youthful.
  • Consume plenty of yellow and orange vegetables. These are high in beta-carotene, an antioxidant. Carrots are especially good.
