How To Cure Ulcers Naturally


        Ulcers form due to a number of reason - faulty diets (processed foods, fried and spicy foods), alcohol, nicotine, and stress. They may also be a result of some other underlying condition. The digestive tract comprises of the esophagus, the stomach, the duodenum, which is the first part of your intestines, and the intestines. These sores are commonly found in the duodenal and are known as duodenal ulcers. When they occur in the stomach, they are referred to as gastric or stomach ulcers. In some individuals, they form in the esophagus and are known as esophageal ulcers.


  

         Ulcer treatment can be done at home naturally by following a proper diet. A fiber-rich diet helps provide protection against ulcers.  Home remedies for stomach ulcers usually focus on strengthening and protecting the stomach lining against acids. There are many stomach ulcer remedies that one can easily practice at home.Some of the more common home remedies for stomach ulcer include:

  • Bananas is one of the simplest natural home remedies for Gastric Ulcer. The antacid effects of bananas are useful in providing relief from the problem and even aid in the process of healing.  However, the small yellow bananas are to be avoided and the larger greener ones preferred
  • Include  legumes, vegetables, fruits and whole grains that help to produce certain substances that protect your stomach lining.
  • Increase fiber in your diet to prevent the development of some types of ulcers.
  • Fruits rich in vitamin A such as watermelon, oranges, peaches and blackberries also cut down the risk of duodenal cancer. You could either eat the whole fruit or consume its juices. 




  • Focus on easily digestible foods, like whole grain seedless breads, certain low acid fruits and vegetables, low fat dairy products (the fats found in milk and cheese can be hard to digest, causing excess acid in your stomach, so aim for low fat products), lean meats, fish and creamed nuts (like low fat peanut or almond butter).
  • Avoid Fried Foods and Spices and other spices while you are suffering from stomach ulcers as it may make the condition more serious.
  • Avoid irritating beverages such as coffee, tea, and alcohol which increase stomach acid secretion.





  • Include a good source of protein (milk, meat, egg, cheese, etc.) at each meal and snack.
  • Avoid eating at or near bedtime. Finish taking your meal 2-3 hours before going to bed. Walk 15-20 minutes after your last meal and before bedtime so that the food gets time to digest which otherwise can cause acid secretion.
  • Drink 8 to 10 glasses of water as it weakens the acid of the stomach and avert the further damage
  • Aloe vera juice is also helpful in healing and preventing ulcers.Some of the medicinal properties of aloe vera juice are: anti bacterial, antifungal, anti viral and also an anti inflammatory agent.  
  • Cabbage is another popular natural remedy for Gastric Ulcer home treatment. The amino acid produced on consuming cabbage juice leads to an increased blood flow to the stomach’s lining and helps strengthen it.
  • Milk is another great curative while you are suffering from gastric ulcers (stomach ulcers). Take two or three times daily.
  • Fenugreek leaves (Methi) and Bamboo leaves  is also beneficial for this ailment. It is an effective home remedy for stomach ulcer. 
  • Consuming the juice of five blanched almonds daily helps bind the acids present in your stomach and also provides the required amount of protein to strengthen the stomach’s lining.
  • Try relaxation techniques. Some tests indicate that the use of acupuncture, yoga, meditation, and massage helps the body to heal itself when you have ulcers.

Foods To Avoid:
  • Vegetables like onions and tomatoes, anything high in acid;
  • Breads that are high in fat like croissants;
  • high acid fruits, like grapefruit, oranges, lemons, and citrus juices;
  • whole milk products and creams;
  • highly seasoned meats, poultry and fish; deli meats; sardines;
  • fried foods; nuts; gravy; and high fat desserts, like cakes, cookies, pastries and donuts.

Other home remedies include:

  • Take about ten grams of drumstick leaves and grind them. Add these crushed leaves in half a cup of yogurt and consume this mixture on a regular basis to relieve Gastric Ulcer.
  • Milk and castor oil is a great remedy for stomach ulcer. Consume 2 to 3 glasses of milk daily. They can add 30 gm of pure odorless castor oil to 250 grams of lukewarm milk.
  • Mixing ginger with honey gives even better results as taste is improved and honey is also antibacterial in nature.





  • Indian gooseberry is one of the powerful remedy to cure stomach ulcer. You can make powder of amla by drying them. Combine this powder with some sugar and psyllium husk. Daily consume 1 teaspoon of this mixture 3 times daily. You can also consume the raw juice of amla.
  • Take 30 grams of pure odourless castor oil with 250 grams of lukewarm milk. It is alos a good remedy for stomach ulcers.
  • Combine 200 ml spinach juice with 300ml carrot juice and drink it daily. You can also mix 300 ml carrot juice with 100 ml beet and 100 ml cucumber juice and consume it daily.


Home Remedies For Acidity





        Acidity refers to the excess secretion of acid by the gastric glands of the stomach. The stomach secrets hydrochloric acid that is responsible for proper functioning of the digestive system. This acid further secretes various digestive enzymes like pepsin that break the food particles for easy digestion. A normal level of acid is required in the stomach for proper digestion of the complex foods.
  • Intake of raw garlic is very beneficial. It is an effective cure for acidity.
  • Eat a few almonds when your experience heartburn symptoms. This is good home remedy for acidity.
  • Boil cumin seeds in a glass of water and drink it with meals.
  • Keep a small piece of jaggery (gur) in your mouth and slowly suck it. Repeat it every hour till acidity subsides.
  • Take about 1-½ liters of water and add 1 tsp Caraway seeds (shah jeera) to it. Bring to a boil and simmer for 15 minutes. Drink it while warm at least 2-3 times a day for 5-6 days.




  • Take a mixture of 2 tsp of natural apple cider vinegar and 2 tsp raw honey in a glass of water before meals to prevent acidity or heartburn.
  • Drinking water in the early morning controls acidity, as water is a good neutralizer for acid.
  • Gulp coconut water 4-5 periods a day.
  • Chew a few holy basil (tulsi ) leaves to get relief from burning, nausea and gas. It is an effective home remedy for acidity.
  • Drink a glass of cold milk for quick relief of heartburn and acidity.
  • Stay away from fried foods, pickles, hot spicy foods, vinegar, and chocolate.
  • Stay away from raw salad of vegetables like onion, cabbage, radish, and peppers.
  • Take lemon juice mixed with a cup of water and add some rock salt to taste. This may be taken 1-2 hours prior to taking meals, or lemon may be used with meals. It will also remove constipation, one of the contributory causes of acidity.
  • Eat watermelon, banana or cucumber every hour. It is also a good remedy for acidity.

        Anemia is a condition when the blood cell decreases hemoglobin content. The red blood cells play an important role in carrying oxygen to the cells through hemoglobin and in case you have owe amount it shows less oxygen to all body tissues. It also results when the red blood cells are being produced or too many red blood cells are being killed off. Home remedies for anemia are a great solution in the condition.


  • Foods rich in iron are also effective in curing anemia. Liver, green leafy vegetable, beets, dried fruits, bran flake, oysters, brown rice, lentils molasses, raisins and prunes have high iron content. Breads and pastas made from whole grain flour are also high in iron.
  • Citrus fruits like oranges, lemons, etc. must be eaten in excess. They should be eaten at regular intervals and not all at once.
  • It's very important to get the proper nutrients into the body. Eating a diet rich in cereals, rice, pastas, dairy products (milk, yogurt and cheese), vegetables and fruits, meat, poultry and fish, and finally dry beans, eggs, and nuts.
  • Soyabeans are a valuable source of iron, vitamin B12 and protein. A quarter cup of soya everyday in the form of beans or flour is highly effective in combating anaemia.
  • Apple juice, mixed with either sugar or honey, should be taken at least once a day, for the treatment of anaemia.  
  • Soak about 7 almonds, in water, overnight. Throw away the water in the morning, peel off the skin of almonds and grind them, to form a paste. Have this paste in the morning, for at least three months.
  • Avoid drinking coffee, tea and ingesting antacids, because they decrease iron absorption. Drink a mixture of apple and tomato juice mixed with either sugar or honey once a day.
  • Consumption of a ripe banana; mashed and mixed with a tablespoon of honey, will prove to be beneficial in treating anemia.
  • Beetroot is also a very good source of iron. Apart from iron it contains various other minerals that are protective in function to the body.
  • Figs must be eaten regularly, at the rate of three to four per day.
  • Honey is very good for an anemic person because it helps increase the hemoglobin in the blood. It is also rich in iron, copper and manganese - which are also essential for curing anaemia fast.
