Oil Cleansing Procedure

The oil cleansing method, also referred to as OCM, is a natural way to clean your face using only oils, hot water, and a soft wash cloth. Many people, especially those with oily skin, think that using oils to wash their face is crazy since they are trying to get rid of oily skin. The truth is, oil attracts and removes oil. When you use the oil cleansing method, the clean oil removes and replaces the dirty oil, resulting in clear and smooth skin. The benefit of using the oil cleansing method is that you are not stripping your skin of its natural oils with harsh cleansers. You are using oils to remove impurities and replace the dirty oil with clean oil that helps to protect and promote the natural balance of your skin. So rather than working against your skin, you are working with it. The result is soft, smooth and radiant skin.

How  To Cleanse Your Face With Oil:

The oil cleansing method is not difficult to follow. All you need are a natural carrier oil to suit your skin type, a wash cloth and running steamy bath water. It is one of the best treatment for acne and blackheads.

  • Mix sunflower seed oil with castor oil to create the optimal blend for your skin type; 10% castor oil is best of dry skin, 20% castor oil is best for combination skin, and 30% castor oil is ideal for oily skin.

  • Massage a small amount of the oils gently into your face. Spend a few minutes rubbing the oils into your cheeks, nose, forehead, neck, and chin, allowing the oils to penetrate into the skin and pull out wastes, bacteria, dead cells and other dirt.
  • Next, dip your wash cloth into clean steamy water. We want the water to be warm enough to open your pores and remove the oil. Cool water will not open your pores, nor will it remove the oil efficiently. Then drape your face with the wet and steamy hot washcloth. Leave it on to cool down and pat off the excess oil off your face gently
  • You will feel your pores releasing the impurities. Wipe the oil gently away and rinse the washcloth well in hot, running water. Hold the washcloth to your face again, allowing it to cool. Wipe gently, rinse well, and repeat two or three more times
  • Rinse your face with warm water to remove any remaining oil and then splash your face with cold water to close your pores.
